Nuisance
air raids were quite frequent during the month of December 1944, and on the morning of 23 December a bomb was dropped in the Officers' area of this squadron. Two officers were killed
and nine others were wounded. Those killed were: 2Lt Harold B. Smith, and 2Lt
Richard F. Finn.
