A colorized portrait of Captain Henry "Hugh" Pennington taken 15 March 1946 after he returned from the war. Note the Navy gold wings above his right pocket. Most of the Catalina pilots went through the Navy's syllabus when they qualified in the OA-10A Catalina at Pensacola, Florida. Some actually wore them while they were overseas during the war, but many did not. They were "razzed" quite a bit from those Army Air Corp pilots who were not dual rated. Hugh stayed in the Reserve for twenty plus years and attained the rank of Lt Colonel. (Photo courtesy of Zo Harper)
