Private, (yes private!) Lloyd
Humphreys in his role as B-17 Flying Fortress instructor in
Lockbourne, Ohio - May 1943. With his previous experience as a Navy
pilot as well as a civilian flight instructor, he was granted permission to
go to the instructor's course before he was commissionsed.
