MISSION REPORT - RESCUES - 02

08 AUGUST 1945
Second Lieutenant Earl Hutchings, pilot of "Playmate Seven Two", departed Zamboanga at 0745 and proceeded to Iligan Bay. Lieutenant Hutchings landed his rescue ship at 0915 near Misamis. The crew of the SBD arrived with guerillas at 1300. A message had been dropped the day before directing them to the pick-up area. The rescued SBD crew were as follows: Captain John R. Kennedy, 0-11174, USMC and Pfc William Seman, 518426, USMC of Marine Air Group 32 (MAG 32). Captain Kennedy stated that his SBD was forced down after engine failure. The survivors were in good condition. Lieutenant Hutchings departed for Zamboanga at 1415 and landed at 1600.
