Private First Class Lucian S. Doyle,
(1924 - ), was born in Hart County, Kentucky on June 19, 1924 to Roxie Highbaugh and Luther Shackelford Doyle, the youngest of seven children. Upon graduation from Munfordville High School in 1941 Private Doyle enlisted in the Army Air Corps in January 1943. He drew his gear from Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and then was sent to Miami Beach, Florida for Air Corps training.

Private Doyle joined the Second Emergency Rescue Squadron in April 1944 and joined them already in the South Pacific. He remained with the Second Emergency as an Aerial Gunner and Armorer until the war ended in August 1945. He returned Stateside in late August and was separated from the Army in September 1945.

Mr. Doyle went to work for International Harvester in Louisville, Kentucky and remained with them for ten years. He then went to work as a builder and developer and real estate agent. In 1978 he started work for the Veteran's Administration as a chief appraiser for the state of Kentucky. He was a supervisor with 75 appraisers working for him. He retired in 1988 and is very active with the 13th Jungle Air Force Association. He served as the Vice President and President and is now on the Board of Directors.
