This photo was taken with a flash. Note the heat
treatment at the end of the
slide causing it to be slightly darker than the rest of the slide. This gun
has the correct checkered slide stop and the Colt "verified proof" (VP
inside a triangle) stamped on the left front of the trigger guard. The "1"
above it is one of the Colt final inspection marks, C-1937-45. It is stamped
above the "VP" AFTER FINISH. (Click HERE to

is a Colt inspector's stamp. |
