The Colt "verified proof" (VP inside a triangle) is
clearly visible stamped on the left front of the trigger guard. The "1"
above it is one of the Colt final inspection marks, C-1937-45. It is stamped
above the "VP" AFTER FINISH. (Click HERE to

is a Colt inspector's stamp. |
