A close-up view of the serial number that appears to have had the first number "2" and the number "7" struck again. The dyes would frequently wear out and have to be hand struck over top of the original number. The second "2" looks as if it should have been restruck as well. Note the type 3 magazine release with convex screw and screw slot. The early Colt production (S/N 1-3,189) had no screw slot and the type 2 (S/N 3,190-6500) had a concave screw with screw slot.
