An example of a mint World War II 1911A1 barrel made by
the High Standard Manufacturing Co., New Haven, Connecticut. These barrels
were furnished as "government free issue" to Remington Rand, Ithaca, and
US&S. It is marked on the right side of the barrel lug with an
"HS" and on the left side with a
"P".
NOTE:
All barrels were blued. Parkerized barrels were either refinished or
manufactured after the war. |
