26 SEPTEMBER 1944
- First Lieutenant Frederick F. Hoss evacuated two wounded men and one sick Lieutenant from Warsaw Bay, Biak Island at 1400. The men were transferred from a landing craft in the open sea to his ship in a 25 to 30 knot wind. The landing and take-off in the rough seas was a tribute to the skill of Lieutenant Hoss. The men were transferred from the barge to the plane by rubber life raft and taken to the 92nd General Hospital on Owi Island.
